ISDS Final Project
For students earning the International Skills Diploma Seal
Your final project must include all of the following in order to earn credit toward your ISDS. You will be given information to upload your presentation to google classroom. For help with each section, please use the "Global and Cultural Experiences" webpages on Mme LeClair-Ash's website.
The final project will be due on Friday, Feb. 22 by midnight.. Once in my google classroom, go to the stream tab and then post your project using the (+) sign on the bottom right of the screen. If there are any problems, email me so that I can assist you. My email is: [email protected].
Project Checklist...Your project must include the following:
Study abroad: cost, credit transfer, where would you go to college in the US and what study abroad program seems most interesting to you? What is the cost of the program, what is the policy for credit transfer to your American university? Where will you live while studying abroad (host family? Student dorms?) What are some useful websites?
Travel abroad: itinerary which includes travel for a total of at least 2 weeks with transportation, lodging and sight-seeing information and budget. How many days will you travel? Where will you go on day 1, 2, 3, etc. Who will you travel with (or how many other people)? Include budget for all of this, including food and sight-seeing. What are some other expenses that you could anticipate?
Safety: In your presentation, explain the safety precautions that you would take to avoid theft and unwanted attention.
Sites and activities: During your trip, what will you see and do? Make at least 5 connections with other disciplines through Art, Geography, Music, Science, Cuisine, Architecture, etc.
Work/internship/volunteer: What are your ideas for type of work (paid or volunteer), how will you get a work permit if this is a paid experience, what are some agencies that can help you? How long will you work and where will you live? What are some useful websites?
PowerPoint, Prezi or other electronic presentation:
15 slides which include the information above.
Use at least 32 point font in a style that is easy to read.
Use pertinent visuals when it makes sense to use them.
